Apr 29, 2024 (newstodate): The handling company Baltic Ground Services has secured the extension of its contract with Ukraine's SkyUp Airlines.
The two parties have thus renewed their existing contract for into-plane fuelling at Riga Airport in Latvia and Tallinn International Airport in Estonia.
As a novelty, the two parties are now also to cooperation under an agreement for fuel services of SkyUp Airlines' aircraft at Kaunas International Airport in Lithuania.
The cooperation between the two parties started in 2022 with BGS providing SkyUp Airlines with ground handling services at Vilnius International Airport in Lithuania for a period of three years, as well as into-plane fuelling services at Riga International Airport in Latvia and Tallinn International Airport in Estonia for a period of six months - now extended.
Chartered by the tour operator Join UP! for flights to Mediterranean leisure destinations, SkyUp Airlines entered the Baltic market from the summer 2022 schedule, with five weekly flights from Vilnius to Antalya from April 30, 2022, followed by two weekly flights from Riga and three weekly flights from Tallinn shortly after.
Set up in 2005, Baltic Ground Services, with Vitalis Dudys as BGS Group Head of Commerce, is a company in the Avia Solutions Group.
