Apr 10, 2024 (newstodate): Finavia continues to report positive growth in cargo volumes at Helsinki Airport in 2024.
In March, the airport handled a total of 14,962 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 2.4 percent, y-o-y.
The growth was generated by international cargo that increased by 2.8 percent to 14,843 tonnes.
During this year's first quarter, Helsinki Airport has seen cargo volumes up by 7.2 percent, y-o-y, to 43,026 tonnes of which 42,649 tonnes were international cargo, up 7.5 percent.
Boding well for a continued increase in cargo from the coming summer schedule is news that Japan Airlines will go up from currently three to five weekly rotations between Tokyo Haneda Airport and Helsinki Airport, while Finnair is also increase frequencies on flights to Japan in summer '24.
