Apr 10, 2024 (newstodate): Member of the Avia Solutions Group, the Latvian carrier SmartLynx has developed into a position as the largest ACMI service provider in Europe with one-third of the market, also operating in the USA, North America, Asia, and Africa, holding AOCs in Latvia, Estonia, and Malta.
   In the coming summer schedule, SmartLynx expects to be operating to 191 destinations in 45 countries for clients in Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa and beyond, translating into a 30 percent rise in flight operations compared to summer '23.
   In the carrier's fleet today are 63 aircraft including 29 Airbus A320, four Airbus A330-300, 17 Airbus A321, 11 Airbus A321F, and nine Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
   Since February 15, 2024, SmartLynx Airlines has a new CEO: Edvinas Demenius succeeding Zygimantas Surintas that held the CEO position since 2016.
