Apr 16, 2024 (newstodate): The Lithuanian carrier Avion Express is taking fresh steps towards settling in Brazil with a new subsidiary.
The Brazilian aviation authority is currently handling the application delivered by the start of this year for issuing the AOC for Avion Express Brazil, expected to be signed later in 2024 and allowing the new carrier to take to the air by the end of the year.
Avion Express has also now taken delivery of its first aircraft, an Airbus A320 from the mother company currently on Lithuanian register and operating on a lease contract with Wizz Air.
Avion Express Brazil plans to focus on providing ACMI services to potential customer airlines in Colombia, Chile, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic.
Avion Express expects to launch business in Brazil with a fleet initially comprising up to six Airbus A320 Family aircraft, growing to 25 aircraft in 2027/28.
