Apr 08, 2024 (newstodate): By the start of this month, Maersk Air Cargo has opened a new freighter route between the UK and China.
The carrier is thus now operating three weekly rotations with a Boeing 767 freighter between Birmingham and Hangzhou, routed via its European hub at Billund Airport and including an en-route stop at Navoi, in Uzbekistan, in both directions between Billund and Hangzhou.
Launching freighter operations at Billund Airport from March 20, 2023, with three weekly rotations between Billund and Hangzhou, the carrier is now offering daily rotations on the route in addition to ad-hoc operations to and from other European airports.
