Apr 18, 2024 (newstodate): From this summer, Norwegian is nestling at Riga Airport as a new base, with one Boeing 737-800 allocated for a start.
With the opening of the base, Norwegian expands its network of direct flight routes from Riga Airport; in addition to the existing flights to Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Trondheim, the airline will offer direct flights to the leisure destinations of Tivat and Corfu.
Norwegian has been operating at Riga Airport since November 10, 2005, and is now the airport's third-largest operator, trailing only after airBaltic and Wizz Air.
In 2020, Norwegian also set up a new service center in Riga, Norwegian Air Resources Latvia, to provide world-wide customer service support, instead of relying on outsourcing of activities in individual markets.
