Apr 12, 2024 (newstodate): Oslo Airport managed a 10 percent y-o-y increase in flown cargo volumes during this year's first quarter.
A total of 43,359 tonnes of cargo was handled during the period, including 40,857 tonnes of international cargo, up 13 percent, y-o-y.
March 2024 alone performed less nicely with an increase by only one percent to 14,354 tonnes of which 13,526 tonnes were international shipments, up only four percent.
In April 2024 the airport is however seeing increased uplift capacity thanks to the opening from April 4 of flights by Beijing Capital Airlines on the route connecting Oslo Airport and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, in China.
The 70 tonnes capacity on this service is however shared with Milan, and on the first flight from Oslo to Chengdu via Astana some 45 tonnes were Norwegian seafood.
