Apr 09, 2024 (newstodate): Stockholm Airport reports a drop by 4.6 percent, y-o-y, in this year's first quarter.
A total of 22,372 tonnes of cargo was thus handled at the airport, including 12,683 tonnes of exports, down 11.2 percent, and 9,689 tonnes of imports, which was an increase by 5.7 percent in Q1.
The performance in March 2024 was slightly better, though, totaling 8,042 tonnes while still down 2.1 percent.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport was strongly affected by SAS' retreat from the route to Chicago in autumn '23, normally contributing around 5.5 percent of the airport's total cargo volumes.
Looking ahead, Stockholm Arlanda Airport now prepares for the opening of new flights by ANA from Tokyo starting from June 6, 2024, with three weekly rotations, as well as Air Canada's flights between Stockholm and Montreal to launch from June 14, 2024, also with three weekly rotations, to which will be added loads on Lufthansa Cargo's Airbus A321F services operated with ever-changing frequencies.
