Apr 18, 2024 (newstodate): Worldwide Flight Services, WFS, has been awarded the handling contract with SAS at the airline's fourth major US destination, Boston.
Under the new three-year agreement, WFS will provide SAS with cargo handling of SAS' daily rotation between Copenhagen and Boston Logan International Airport with Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
WFS expects to be handling an annual volume of some 8,000 tonnes of cargo on the Boston-Copenhagen flights, including high volumes of perishables.
With the addition of handling at Boston Logan International Airport, WFS is now cooperating with SAS at four US destinations including also Los Angeles, New York JFK, and San Francisco.
Today, SAS' network comprises flights to seven destinations in the USA, including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Washington D.C.
Next to come and starting from June 17, 2024, SAS will launch daily rotations between Copenhagen and Atlanta, SkyTeam's hub, starting out with Airbus A330-300 aircraft, and changing to five weekly rotations in the winter 2024/25 schedule using Airbus A350-900.
