May 06, 2024 (newstodate): DHL Express has big plans for growing its operation at Finland's Helsinki Airport.
   Under construction now is a new 16,000 m2 DHL cargo facility, with 90 loading bays.  
   The facility is scheduled to be completed in H2/2025 and marks DHL Express’s response to the increased air express deliveries.
   The coming new logistics center will more than double the company's existing handling capacity, equipped with an automatic sorting system capable of handling some 6,500 package shipments per hour, while 90 direct loading bays enable efficient sorting of shipments directly from the conveyor system to the delivery trucks.
   The logistics center is being built by AVIA Real Estate Oy, with Meijou Oy as the main contractor.
