May 27, 2024 (newstodate): Since May 14, 2024, the Faroese carrier FarCargo's sole aircraft has been stuck at Denmark's Billund Airport, its home base.
The so far last flight was performed from Dublin which alongside flights from Vagar and Billund to Brussels had become the only operations by the Boeing 757-200 converted freighter.
In the original business plan were flights to carry Faroese seafood to the US market for the aircraft owner, Bakkafrost, appointing NordicGSA as its GSA to sell the home bound cargo capacity on behalf of FarCargo.
However, these operations with the first flight to New York on March 5, 2024, ended already with the last flight on April 9, 2024, on the route from Billund to Vagar and continuing to New York after re-fuelling at Kangerlussuaq Airport in Greenland, and returning from New York to Billund.
Since then, the aircraft operated by FarCargo's partner holding the AOC, West Air Sweden, has thus been performing only intra-European cargo flights.
newstodate is actively seeking more detailed info from FarCargo that is however not so far responding to phone calls or inquiries by mail
