May 07, 2024 (newstodate): Finnair reports an increase in cargo volumes by 9.6 percent, y-o-y, in April 2024.
More than one-third of the volumes were carried on the Asian lanes, totaling 6,049 tonnes - but unchanged against Apr '23, hampered by the closure of the Russian airspace.
On the M East traffic, primarily in cooperation with Qatar Airways, Finnair grew the volumes by 17.7 percent, while cargo carried on the European traffic grew the most in April '24, up by 50.6 percent, y-o-y, to 2,588 tonnes.
Volumes on the North Atlantic routes did little to raise volumes; a total of 1,215 tonnes and down 8.1 percent.
In the first four months of this year, Finnair has thus lifted a total of 45,966 tonnes, an increase by 11.3 percent, with the Asian volumes rising 12.8 percent to 25,236 tonnes.
