May 14, 2024 (newstodate): The Lithuanian charter and ACMI carrier KlasJet has landed yet another customer in the ACMI market, now a key business segment for the carrier.
New on the list of ACMI customers is the Israeli airline El Al that has signed up for the lease of two Boeing 737-800 aircraft from KlasJet during the current summer schedule, with Klasjet manning the cockpit, and with Hebrew-speaking El Al cabin crew members.
Klasjet is seeing brisk success in the ACMI market in 2024; in April, the carrier signed an ACMI contract with the German carrier Marabu Airlines taking in two Boeing 737-800 aircraft to serve through its summer '24 schedule from Munich Airport.
In February 2024, KlasJet landed an ACMI customer in Asia, placing one Boeing 737-800 aircraft with US-Bangla, the largest airline in Bangladesh with a fleet now comprising 21 aircraft, and also in February 2024, Air Serbia signed an ACMI contract with KLasJet for one Boeing more Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
