May 14, 2024 (newstodate): Lithuania's Vilnius Airport is reporting positive growth in cargo volumes in 2024.
In the first four months of this year, the airport has been handling a total of 5,199 tonnes of cargo which is an increase by 9.5 percent, y-o-y.
Volumes handled in April 2024 alone were up even more, increasing by 12.8 percent compared to 2023.
Volumes handled at Kaunas Airport were also up, growing 25.4 percent, y-o-y, to 1,960 tonnes in Jan-Apr '24 and by 19 percent in April, to 423 tonnes.
The third airport managed by Lithuanian Airports, Palanga Airport, faced a drop by 5.7 percent, y-o-y, to a mere 144 tonnes in Jan-Apr, and down by 95 percent to only eight tonnes in April '24.
Counting all three airports together, total volumes handled were up by 13 percent in Jan-Apr '24, but increasing only 4.3 percent, y-o-y, in April 2024.
