May 16, 2024 (newstodate): A new carrier in Uzbekistan, FlyKhiva is now readying for launch of commercial services with its first Boeing 767-300F.
Based at Tashkent, the carrier, part of the FlyKhiva Group, has taken over the 25 years old freighter on a lease contract with Icelandair that put one of its two aircraft on the ACMI market as part of its restructuring process.
The aircraft is now back in Tashkent since May 3, 2024, after maintenance at Shannon, Ireland, and operations will soon start with flights to Dubai's Al Maktoum International Airport.
According to Uzbek media, FlyKhiva will add another two Boeing 767-300F aircraft to the fleet before the end of this year.
Founded in January 2021, FlyKhiva started operations using leased aircraft from Azerbaijan Airlines to develop passenger, cargo and business aviation, as well as operating domestic and international flights.
