May 16, 2024 (newstodate): The Norwegian regional carrier Wideroe will have a new CEO to take the company further with its new owner, Norwegian.
   In the position as Wideroe CEO since 2015, Stein Nilsen has announced his decision to step down while remaining in the seat till a successor has been found.
   Mr Nielsen's career in aviation started in 1997 with six years with SAS, last as SAS Snr VP Norway 2003-04, while later holding exec positions with Norway's state railways and other companies before taking the helm of Wideroe in May 2025.
   The acquisition by Norwegian of the Norwegian regional carrier Wideroe, announced early in July 2023, took effect from the start of this year.
