May 089, 2024 (newstodate): Soon to lift off, the new Brazilian carrier Levu Air Cargo has inked a partnership agreement with the Latvian carrier SmartLynx, member of the Avia Solutions Group.
Under the agreement, SmartLynx' Maltese subsidiary SmartLynx MT will place one of its 11 Airbus A321F, formerly operated for DHL Aviation under a contract landed in February 2021, with Levu that will thus become the first South American operator of this type of cargo aircraft.
The aircraft - the first in the airline's fleet - will be based at Viracopos/Campinas International Airport, Levu Air Cargo's operational headquarters in the state of Sao Paolo.
In addition to the A321F, LEVU Air Cargo also plans to take delivery of one Airbus A330-300F before the end of this year under a lease contract with a yet-undisclosed lessor.
