May 27, 2024 (newstodate): United Airlines is now back on the seasonal route between New York EWR and Iceland's Keflavik Airport.
With the first rotation on May 24, 2024, United is offering daily flights on the route till September, when frequency will go down to four weekly rotations using Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
United Airlines is thus resuming the seasonal service that was in place between 2018 and 2022 and slated to start again from May 12, 2023, but later taken off the schedule prior to launch.
The New York service will operate alongside the carrier's route to Iceland from Chicago since 2021.
United performed its first seasonal flights between New York and Keflavik back in 2011, adding Chicago from 2018.
