Jun 07, 2024 (newstodate): American Airlines has now performed its first flight to the Danish market, initiating a program starting June 5 and running till the end of October 2024.
The carrier will be operating daily rotations between Philadelphia and Copenhagen, using Boeing 787-9 aircraft on the route.
This marks the airline's entry into the Danish market, while the carrier was online for some years with seasonal flights between Chicago and Helsinki, Finland, starting in summer 2011.
Serving the oneworld member carrier American Airlines as GSSA in the four Nordic markets since March 1, 2011, is North Air Logistics, with Henrik Spove as Regional Director Nordics.
In a release prior to the start of operations, American Airlines highlighted the importance of cargo products like pharmaceuticals and seafood from Copenhagen to the US market.
American Airlines has contracted Menzies to provide passenger and ramp handling at Copenhagen Airport.
