Jun 18, 2024 (newstodate): An element in a strategy to rejuvenate China’s tourism sector, the country has again expanded the list of countries enjoying visa-free tourist entry.
New on the list is now Australia, following New Zealand that was also included in the visa-waiver program.
In November 2023, China introduced a one-year trial, now extended, for visa-free travel for citizens of France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia, and in March this year, China expanded the program to include also Ireland, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
Adding now Australia and New Zealand, the number of nations allowed visa-free entry to China totals 14, with passport holders from these countries free to stay in China for up to 15 days for tourism, business, family visits, or transit purposes.
So far, no Nordic countries have been included in the visa-waiver program..
