Jun 20, 2024 (newstodate): Total cargo volumes, flown and trucked, continue to rise at Copenhagen airport in 2024.
Including cargo on legacy and integrators, the airport saw its total volumes up by 18.9 percent, y-o-y, in the first five months of this year, to 128,610 tonnes.
The growth was secured by a hike by 27 percent, y-o-y, in cargo on legacy carriers, totaling 91,466 tonnes, while integrators with 37,144 tonnes increased by only 1.6 percent in Jan-May 2024.
Volumes in June 2024 will expectedly contribute significantly to growth, with the start from June 5, 2024, of American Airlines operating flights between Copenhagen and Philadelphia using Boeing 787-9 aircraft in a program ending in October 2023.
Also SAS will contribute to growth in cargo with the opening of flights on the new route connecting Copenhagen and Atlanta with a daily rotation starting from June 17, 2024, with Airbus A330-30 aircraft .
