Jun 18, 2024 (newstodate): The privately-owned Croatian charter and ACMI airline Trade Air is taking a cautious approach to fleet expansion.
The carrier took delivery of one more Airbus A320 aircraft on a dry lease agreement only in May 2024.
Even with the latest expansion, Trade Air is seeing all aircraft capacity sold out since October 2023.
The airline is thus determined to further grow it aircraft fleet - and its five-year plan comprises an expansion of the fleet.
However, the vicissitudes of the current unstable world economic situation and geopolitical uncertainty calls for restraint.
-I believe that for the time being, we should prioritize revenue growth and scale back investments until the geopolitical situation stabilizes, says the carrier's CEO, Marko Cvijin, in an interview with national media.
Established in 1994 and performing its first commercial flight on May 22, 1995, Trade Air now operates a fleet comprising five A320, one Airbus A319, one Fokker 100, as well as one wet-leased Saab 340 aircraft leased from Sprint Air to serve PSO flights on domestic routes in Croatia.
