Jun 10, 2024 (newstodate): After almost four weeks of a country-wide strike, wheels are now starting to turn again on the Faroe Islands as an agreement on the labor market has finally been reached.
The country has been running short of even daily necessities, production has come to a halt, and export of seafood crucial to its economy has been stalled since mid-May 2024.
As one sign of recovery, FarCargo is now preparing to return flights later today from its base at Denmark's Billund Airport, lifting food supplies and other cargo much in demand to Vagar Airport.
FarCargo's Boeing 757-200 freighter aircraft performed its last flight on May 14 from Dublin to Billund where the aircraft has been parked pending the lifting of strike.
