Jun 13, 2024 (newstodate): Greenland and Northern Canada will soon get connected by a new route to open on June 26, 2024.
   Air Greenland will offer a weekly rotation between Nuuk and Iqaluit with Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft in cooperation with the Canadian airline Canadian North Air.
   Air Greenland will thus add North American destinations including Halifax, Toronto, Vancouver, Anchorage, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, New York, Seattle, and Washington DC to its map in 2024.
    Already in 2020, Canadian North and Air Greenland signed a LoI to explore partnership opportunities for air services and tourism development between Greenland and Canada. The process was however stalled as the coronavirus pandemic gained pace.  
   The route was earlier operated by East Air in cooperation with Air Greenland, later transferred to operate into Kangerlussuaq with larger aircraft, but eventually closed in 2001.
