Jun 11, 2024 (newstodate): The Latvian charter and ACMI carrier SmartLynx Airlines has become one of the first airlines in Europe to merge its Operations Manuals – Part A (OM-A) across three AOCs into one single OM-A.
The merger of OM-A has now been approved by the civil aviation authorities of Latvia, Estonia and Malta, enabling the company to decrease the time dedicated to administrating the manuals by up to 40 percent while increasing the overall transparency of the manual administration process.
SmartLynx operates a fleet of 63 aircraft under Latvian, Estonian, and Maltese AOCs, till now obliged to maintain three separate OM-A manuals regulations.
Member of the Avia Solutions Group, SmartLynx has become the largest ACMI service provider in Europe with one-third of the market, also operating in the USA, North America, Asia, and Africa.
In this summer schedule, SmartLynx expects to be operating to 191 destinations in 45 countries for clients in Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa and beyond, translating into a 30 percent rise in flight operations compared to summer '23.
In the carrier's fleet today are 63 aircraft including 29 Airbus A320, four Airbus A330-300, 17 Airbus A321, 11 Airbus A321F, and nine Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
