Pending approval of the deal, Airport Service Budapest Zrt. and Menzies Aviation will join forces to provide ground handling, cargo and lounge services at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport as one company.
AS Budapest will thus take ownership of Menzies Aviation Hungary Kft, transferring the contracts and assets of AS Budapest to the joint company that also intends to hire the employees of AS Budapest.
The new company aims to combine AS Budapest’s expertise in passenger, cargo, and aircraft handling with Menzies Aviation’s global network and experience, to create a more competitive service provider for airlines operating at the Budapest Airport.

Following more than a year of negotiations, the sale and purchase agreement of Budapest Airport Ltd. was signed on June 6, 2024, the Ministry for National Economy announced.
The Hungarian State has acquired 80 percent of the shares in Budapest Airport Ltd. while the French co-investor VINCI now owns the remaining minority 20 percent stake and will be the operator of the airport under a concession till 2080.
