Jun 18, 2024 (newstodate): After a long lapse, direct air links connecting Copenhagen and Atlanta are again restored.
Starting from June 17, 2024, SAS has launched flights from Copenhagen Airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport offering a daily rotation with Airbus A330-30 aircraft.
The new route to SAS' 9th US destination fits nicely with the carrier entry into the SkyTeam Alliance by September 1, 2024, allowing SAS to offer passengers seamless onward access to flights on Delta's global network.
And for once, SAS highlighted air cargo in its report on Q1, 2024:
-Cargo transportation is expected to play an important role for this route, partly because of its proximity to the Port of Savannah, the largest and fastest-growing container terminal in America, the message read.
From the start of this year's winter schedule, SAS will change to five weekly rotations using Airbus A350-900.
Delta Air Lines has earlier been on/off on the route with seasonal services
