Jun 14, 2024 (newstodate): April 4, 2024, saw the first flight by Beijing Capital Airlines on the route connecting Oslo Airport and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, in Western China.
The destination in China is now to change from June 20, seeing Beijing Capital Airlines flying instead into Nanchang Changbei International Airport in Eastern China, some 700 km from Shanghai and thus closer to the key market for Norwegian seafood shipments.
Behind the operation to carry Norwegian seafood to the Chinese market is the Chinese Hongyuan Group.
Flying into Oslo from Milan, the service adds up to 210 tonnes per week in direct capacity for shipping Norwegian seafood to the rapidly expanding Chinese market.
The so far three weekly flights are performed via a technical stop at Astana, in Kazakhstan, with an Airbus A330-300F aircraft - the single freighter in the fleet of the airline that is a subsidiary of Hainan Airlines.
At Oslo Airport, OSCC has been contracted as handling agent.
