Jun 21, 2024 (newstodate): The Ukrainian cargo airline Supernova set up by Nova Poshta has added fresh cargo capacity.
The carrier has taken in a Boeing 737-800 aircraft currently at Lithuania's Siauliai Airport for pre-delivery maintenance.
The aircraft has been converted into freighter at the Chinese Yichang-Sanxia Airport by order of the British leasing company World Star Aviation.
In 2023, Nova Post established its own cargo carrier Supernova that obtained its AOC on January 6, 2023, as the first Ukrainian carrier in wartime.
In the fleet of the carrier are also two AN-26 cargo aircraft required for the airline to obtain its AOC - but since remained ground.
Prior to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Nova Poshta was already planning for acquisition of two Boeing 757-200F aircraft to bring in Chinese e-trade commodities to Ukraine for onward distribution in Ukraine and other markets, enhancing Nova Poshta's control of its logistics. This acquisition was however never materialized.
