Jun 05, 2024 (newstodate): Uzbekistan is becoming increasingly attractive as offering en-route stop services for cargo carriers operating between Europe and China.
A potential new customer may be CMA CGM Air Cargo, meeting this week in Tashkent with Uzbekistan Airports, Uzaviatsiya Agency and the Uzaeronavigatsiya Center.
Talks included issues regarding the operation of cargo flights from China to France with a technical stop at Navoi International Airport, in Uzbekistan.
Plans are to be operating five weekly rotations with Airbus A330 aircraft via Navoi Airport as a transfer point for technical landing, refueling and crew changes.
The operation is already well-tested by a/o the Danish carrier Maersk Air Cargo that launched freighter operations at Billund Airport from March 20, 2023, between Billund and Hangzhou via Navoi Airport.
Other airlines also using Navoi Airport for en-route stops include MNG Cargo, Turkish Airlines, and Silk Way West
