Jul 31, 2024 (newstodate): Rising tensions in the Middle East have now forced airlines to suspend flights to Lebanon.
Beirut Rafik Hariri International Airport is thus seeing airlines including Middle East Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Egyptair, Air France, Lufthansa, Swiss, Aegean Airlines and Royal Jordanian suspending all operations to and from Lebanon.
Hard hit by the situations is especially the new Israeli airline Air Haifa with its hub at Haifa Airport, only 40 km from the border between Israel and Lebanon.
Air Haifa took delivery of its first and so far only aircraft only on July 28, 2024, an ATR72-600 due to enter commercial services in September with flights on a regional network - but now facing a most uncertain future...
