Jul 31, 2024 (newstodate): IATA has added one new airline to its membership list: SmartLynx Airlines Malta.
   Member of the Avia Solutions Group, SmartLynx Airlines Malta, SmartLynx MT, has been IOSA certified  since 2020.  
   The full IATA membership opens up for new opportunities for cooperation and development in the ACMI passenger and cargo industry.
   SmartLynx Malta obtained its Maltese AOC on April 19, 2019, and landed its Canadian Foreign Air Operator Certificate in October, allowing it to expand into the North American markets with charter and ACMI services.
   Since February 15, 2024, SmartLynx Airlines has a new CEO: Edvinas Demenius succeeding Zygimantas Surintas that held the CEO position since 2016.
