Aug 02, 2024 (newstodate): Among the world's oldest airlines still operating is the Czech carrier CSA, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2023.
The carrier is however soon to become part of history as CSA will change its business model from October 2024 to become a holding company with a majority stake in Smartwings that together with its subsidiaries in Slovakia, Poland and Hungary will take over all flight operations on its own AOC.
In the fleet of the Smartwings Group are 47 aircraft, but two Airbus A320 aircraft will continue to fly in the colors of CSA, as well as four new Airbus A220-300 aircraft, the first two of which are to be delivered at the end of this year with the next two slated for delivery in H1, 2025.
Today, CSA operates only two daily rotations on the route connecting Prague and Paris.
