Aug 28, 2024 (newstodate): The Australian carrier Skytrans is in for a bright and expansive future under its new ownership by Lithuania's Avia Solutions Group.
Skytrans became a member of the ASG through the acquisition in January 2024, based at Cairns and operating a fleet of 13 turboprop aircraft.
Skytrans added Avia Solutions Group's 12th AOC, allowing ASG to operate passenger and cargo flights in Australia.
In October, Skytrans will introduce the first Airbus A319 to Australia, with plans to expand the fleet to up to ten aircraft by the end of 2025.
The fleet expansion provide capacity for other airlines in the region to manage their C-checks, late aircraft deliveries, and peak season demands through lease and ACMI contracts with the carrier.
In January-June 2024, The Americas, Africa, Australia and Pacific Islands represented 11.8, 2.7, and 1.2, of ASG's revenues, respectively.
