Aug 12, 2024 (newstodate): The privately-owned Kazakh cargo carrier Alpha Sky has expanded its freighter fleet.
Alpha Sky has thus taken delivery of a Boeing 757-200F freighter at Turkistan Hazrat Sultan International Airport in southern Kazakhstan after storage at Istanbul Airport since 2019 and earlier operated by the Russian carrier Aviastar-TU.
The Boeing 757-200F is the first of this type in the fleet of Alpha Sky, that also operates two Boeing 737-400 freighters.
In May 2024, the carrier inked a MoU with QazPost, Kazakhstan's national postal operator, to provide uplift capacity imports of Chinese e-trade commodities to Kazakhstan.
The carrier will thus be operating flights connecting its base airport at Turkestan to Hong Kong, and plans also include the construction of a new joint distribution center for processing international postal shipments also at Turkestan.
