Aug 07, 2024 (newstodate): If your budget allows, take a VIP World Tour on a reconfigured Icelandair Boeing 757-200 aircraft for some 100,000 USD per seat.
The aircraft will allow just 75 passengers to enjoy a month-long trip around the world, organized by National Geographic’s ‘Around the World by Private Jet’ tour.
Icelandair is well-versed in this specialty, arranging similar trips already in 2022, contracted by Disneyland to fly a group of exclusive tourists round the world in July 2023 to visit all Disneyland parks around the world - as well as other tourist attractions along the route.
According to the latest Q2/2024 reports from Icelandair, the VIP world tours are performing well, and a third Boeing 757-200 aircraft was added to that fleet earlier this year.
Bringing in money, these special operations also keep the airline's Boeing 757-200 fleet in the air until the final phasing-out of this aircraft type by 2026/27.
At the same time, Icelandair reports that preparations have started for a leasing project on the South Pole next winter, the fourth year in a row.
Already in February 2021, Icelandair operated a similar project on behalf of Loftleidir.
