Aug 19, 2024 (newstodate): Latvia's Riga Airport still has a way to go before landing its cargo volumes in the black.
In January-July 2024, the airport handled a total of 10,044 tonnes of flown cargo, which was down eight percent compared to last year - and 35 percent below 2019-volumes.
As one sign of relief, volumes handled in July 2024 were however up for the first time in 2024, totaling 1,620 tonnes which was an increase by seven percent, y-o-y.
Compared to July 2019, this was down 27 percent.
