Aug 09, 2024 (newstodate): Iceland's Keflavik Airport saw its total cargo volumes down during January-July 2024.
A total of 31,293 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, down 7.9 percent, y-o-y.
Two-thirds of the total cargo were carried on freighter services, where volumes at 20,240 tonnes dipped strongly by 15.6 percent.
Belly cargo volumes on passenger flights performed better, totaling 10,873 tonnes, which was an increase by 11.5 percent during the period.
49 percent of the cargo on freighter services were import shipments, while 83 percent of the belly cargo on passenger flights were export shipments.
