Aug 13, 2024 (newstodate): As SAS leaves the Star Alliance, its former lead partner Lufthansa is strengthening its presence in the Norwegian market with a new partnership.
   Lufthansa has thus signed a codeshare agreement with Wideroe, providing passengers at 11 airports in Norway with seamless access to Lufthansa's global route network.
   With effect from September 1, 2024, 11 of Wideroe’s routes to Bergen, Trondheim and Tromso will be connected with a Lufthansa flight to the hubs in Frankfurt and Munich, and from there on to around 250 of the Lufthansa Group’s destinations.
   Lufthansa will also add its route number on Wideroe’s international flights from the hub in Bergen to Lufthansa Group’s hubs in Munich and Brussels, providing connections to Brussels Airlines and selected routes in Africa.
