Aug 21, 2024 (newstodate): Yesterday's announcement from the Latvian carrier airBaltic has raised speculations about a forthcoming expansion of its wet-lease cooperation with the Lufthansa Group.
Since 2022, airBaltic has been a capacity provider for Lufthansa Group carriers, including five Airbus A220-300 aircraft on the network of Eurowings as well as six Airbus A220-300 aircraft on a wet-lease agreement with Swiss.
airBaltic has now announced temporary bases for the upcoming summer season to be set up in Munich, Vienna and Brussels - all three airports serving as hubs for the Lufthansa Group's carriers Lufthansa, Swiss and Eurowings.
