Aug 22, 2024 (newstodate): Opening on November 28, 2024, Greenland's Nuuk Airport will signal a new chapter with competition in the country's Transatlantic aviation business.
One first example is the announcement of a new route from Aalborg Airport in Denmark to Nuuk Airport, operated by the Danish charter and ACMI carrier airseven with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Starting from June 12 till September 1,2025, the route will operate twice-weekly in a cooperation with the Danish tour operator Ruby Rejser and will offer both direct individual flight bookings and package tours.
airseven will thus compete directly with Air Greenland that launched seasonal flights from Aalborg to Kangerlussuaq during summer 2024 ending August 20, 2024, as an extension of its existing route to Copenhagen Airport, continuing to Aalborg after a one-hour stop.
