Aug 28, 2024 (newstodate): Norse Atlantic Airways has decided to divest of the Boeing 787-8, focusing instead on a Boeing 787-9 single-type fleet.
In the fleet today are three Boeing 787-8 aircraft subleased by the Company to Air Europe, with the shortest lease term remaining and now poised for redelivery before the end of 2024.
By the end of May 2024, Norse Atlantic Airways increased its fleet of own operated aircraft from 10 to 12 by taking back two 787-9 aircraft from sublease to the Italian carrier Neos and the Nigerian carrier Air Peace as planned.
To optimize profitability and balance risks, the carrier has allocated a growing proportion of capacity to ACMI and charter flights.
In Q3/2024 and through the winter schedule, the carrier plans to fly at least half of the capacity on ACMI and charter contracts.
