Aug 19, 2024 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic has launched a drive to lure applicants to man the cockpits of its growing fleet of aircraft.
The company is now offering attractive sign-up bonuses for Captains and First Officers who join airBaltic between September 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025.
To promote an enhanced work/life balance for its employees, airBaltic also plans to set up new crew bases in Tallinn and Vilnius starting from November 1, 2024, and for the upcoming summer season, temporary bases will be set up in Munich, Vienna and Brussels.
Moreover, starting from January 2025, airBaltic will implement a salary increase and improvements in crew rosters with more days for both cockpit and cabin crew.
Today operating 48 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, growing to 50 before the end of this yer, airBaltic plans to operate a fleet of 100 A220-300s by 2030 - requiring a hard fight in the market for cockpit crew members.
