Sep 30, 2024 (newstodate): The US low-cost carrier Southwest Airlines has named its first-ever airline partner: Icelandair.
The two airlines have thus inked an MoU aiming at establishing a bilateral partnership in 2025, allowing passengers to easily connect between the two airlines’ networks.
Increased focus on airline partnerships extends Icelandair’s market reach and further strengthens its comprehensive route network, currently comprising 34 destinations in Europe and 17 in North America, including Baltimore-Washington, the initial North American gateway between Icelandair and Southwest Airlines.
For Icelandair, the planned partnership will open access to Southwest Airlines' network of 120 destinations in North America.
